Empty cells are empty — not white beads.

    Crop photo

Drag the dashed box or its corners. Or pick 1:1, 3:4, and other ratios.

Then click a flat background on the photo. Matching colors become empty cells — no beads there.

    How to convert a photo

    1. Choose a PNG, JPEG, or WebP on this device. Nothing is sent to a server.
    2. Crop or flip if needed, then set board size, palette, and max colors.
    3. Convert, tap stray beads to fix them, then download a PNG with codes and counts.

A photo-to-Perler converter that stays on your device

This page maps a photo onto a 5mm midi fuse-bead grid using perceptual matching (CIEDE2000), not a simple RGB shrink. That is the same family of matching the Bead Pattern app uses for a first Smart result. Hama and Artkal 5mm palettes are here too; the title names Perler because that is the usual English search.

You can crop, cap the color count, and treat a flat backdrop as empty so the board is not carpeted with beads you would have to unpeg. Official ready-made charts still live under the pattern catalog if you want a finished subject instead of a photo.

Board size, palettes, and empty cells

29, 58, and 87 match one to three standard pegboards. Custom sizes stop at 116 on the long edge — wider portraits belong in the app. Transparent pixels and a flat edge color become empty cells, not a field of white beads.

After convert you can paint, drag, erase, pick a color, flood-fill, and undo. The PNG you download is a chart: grid, codes, per-color counts, and bead.pixlery.com. HD export, 1:1 PDF, and board-by-board guides are in the Bead Pattern app — this page does not send the current grid there.

    Questions

    Does this upload my photo?

No. Conversion runs in your browser on this device. Refreshing the tab discards the grid. We do not keep a copy of the photo on a server.

Which bead brands can I use?

Perler Midi, Hama Midi, Artkal S 5mm, Nabbi (IKEA Pyssla uses the same 5mm colors), and MARD 221 — each as that brand’s full 5mm midi range, not a 30-color excerpt. Buy beads by the code on the legend, not by a store bag name. The pitch is 5mm midi throughout.

How large can the grid be?

29, 58, or 87 on the longest edge, or a custom size up to 116. Larger boards and multi-board splits are in the Bead Pattern app.

Can I edit the result after converting?

Yes. Paint, drag, erase, pick a color, flood-fill, and undo. Empty cells stay empty — they are not white beads you have to place.

    What file do I get?

A PNG chart with the grid, color codes, per-color counts, and bead.pixlery.com. This version does not export PDF. HD PNG, 1:1 PDF, and board guides stay in the app.

    Do I need an account?

No. The website does not charge and has no login. App Pro features such as HD export remain in the app, not behind a website paywall.
